Uninvited: The Home Under Siege

A run of films where the threat gets inside the house, whether it knocks politely, cons its way in, rings from upstairs or was already living in the basement. Watched together, they show how one premise moves from 1950s noir and the 60s thriller through slashers and French extremity to class satire.

Mostly crowd favourites with a spine of film-school classics and a few cult deep cuts; they're easy to sit down to but many are hard to shake off afterward, and Haneke's pair is cruel to its audience on purpose.
