Wrong Turns, Rural Nightmares
A run of horror films about outsiders who stray too far from the highway, into a cabin, farmhouse, roadside hotel, island village or mountain lodge where nobody is coming to help; watch them together to see how many directors took the same premise to very different places, from grindhouse grime to dark comedy.
This is the grimy heart of the horror canon, with genre landmarks next to cult oddities and a few lesser-known foreign titles; it's easy to get into, but much of it is truly nasty, so save it for when you want to be rattled.
