Hollywood Gothic Psychodrama

Watch these when you want horror that lives in the mind instead of the crypt. They rhyme on gloomy houses, buried pasts, and people who are manipulated or obsessed until they can't trust what they see.

These are prestige studio classics with big star performances. Vertigo and Gaslight are broadly seen canon, and the two Aldrich films are campier cult favourites from the late-career 'hagsploitation' cycle. They're easy to watch but cruel underneath.
