Its footprint

Its opening in a Tondo slaughterhouse is one of world cinema's most-referenced cold opens, and Hilda Koronel's face in close-up has become shorthand for the whole Brocka project; Martin Scorsese's World Cinema Project restoration made it a touchstone for a new generation.
