Trapped (Ófærð) is an Icelandic Nordic noir crime drama in which a small coastal town is cut off by a ferocious winter storm at the same moment a dismembered body surfaces in the harbor. The show's identity is inseparable from its location: the ice, the claustrophobia, the grim insularity of a community that cannot escape either the weather or each other. Local police chief Andri — played with quiet, charismatic authority by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson — carries the investigation largely alone as Reykjavík reinforcements are stranded.
