The Night Manager poster

The Night Manager is a sleek, cinematic British spy thriller adapted from John le Carré's novel, following former soldier Jonathan Pine as he infiltrates the inner circle of a charming international arms dealer. Anchored by magnetic performances from Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, and Olivia Colman, and directed with visual elegance by Susanne Bier, it plays like a prestige Bond film: international locations, high-stakes moral tension, and intelligent plotting rather than cheap action. Reviewers consistently praise its production values, atmospheric cinematography, and the quality of its ensemble cast. It rewards attentive viewers with layered character dynamics and a satisfying slow-burn infiltration arc. Best suited to fans of le Carré, spy fiction, and prestige British drama.

From the reviewers

This is a rare thing: a genuinely classy thriller. I've become so used to dodgy story lines and plots that resemble Swiss cheese that this is something of a shock.
Of course, it helps that the acting is so brilliant with top performances from the likes of Tom Hiddleston, Hugh Laurie, Olivia Colman, Tom Hollander and Elizabeth Debicki but a great actor needs a great script.
Susanne Bier's direction is a masterclass. The cinematography is stunning.
The Night Manager stays forcefully true to the characterizations and atmosphere of Le Carre's classic spy novel.
Not a series to watch without paying attention, it is a series well worth the time and effort to absorb and enjoy it fully.
