The Murders at White House Farm poster

A taut, atmospherically shot six-part British true-crime drama reconstructing the 1985 White House Farm murders and the investigation that ultimately convicted Jeremy Bamber. Set in mid-1980s rural Essex, the show draws its power from an exceptional ensemble — particularly Freddie Fox's chilling portrayal of Bamber and Mark Addy's grounded detective work — and from the psychological dread of watching a system slowly and imperfectly correct itself. It operates in the tradition of measured, evidence-driven UK crime drama: slow-burn, procedurally faithful, and more interested in institutional credibility and moral weight than sensation. Reviewers frequently binge it despite mild pacing complaints in the middle episodes.

From the reviewers

Freddie Fox makes a great villain, plus Mark Addy & Gemma Whelan came through shining as usual.
the cinematography is some of the best I've seen in a TV drama, it truly creates an atmosphere full of suspense.
The productions use of the landscape and the deserted house as a silent witness is both atmospheric and calming in the face of the alarming and overwrought lives of the characters.
Steven Graham's welsh accent is as terrible as his character's dialogue, but that's the only negative comment I have.
six episodes is a stretch, it should have been done over four, it does lull a little in the middle.
