Succession poster

Succession is a slow-burn US prestige drama about the Roy family — a dynastic media empire ruled by aging patriarch Logan Roy — whose adult children circle each other in an endless, vicious competition for succession. The show is almost entirely dialogue-driven, deriving its tension from boardroom betrayals, family psychological abuse, and the dark comedy of watching irredeemably flawed ultra-wealthy people destroy each other. It functions simultaneously as savage satire of the billionaire class and as a genuinely moving family tragedy. Reviewers consistently cite the ensemble acting — with virtually every major cast member receiving Emmy recognition — and the writing as world-class. It rewards patient viewers who warm slowly to its deliberate pace and its cast of characters who are impossible to root for yet impossible to look away from.

From the reviewers

Every acto/actress on the show have been nominated for their performances in this, thats unheard of for a show.
What makes this series so special is the writing and acting. It will suck you into their world and won't let go.
If you are looking for action and a fast paced show then this isn't for you.
The comedy is sometimes amazing (Tom & Greg). The problem with this show is, it feels like a FORTY HOUR MEETING. They never EVER stop talking about making some sort of deal or acquisition, and there is no room for anything else.
The handheld camera work adds an almost documentary-style feel, making viewers feel like a fly on the wall, witnessing intimate, raw exchanges.
