Ozark poster

Ozark is a US prestige crime thriller about a financial planner who relocates his family to the Missouri Ozarks after becoming entangled in cartel money laundering, and must keep them alive through escalating moral compromises. The show is defined by relentless, edge-of-seat tension, morally grey characters whose survival instincts override their ethics, and an atmospheric lakeland setting that amplifies the dread. Jason Bateman and Laura Linney anchor an ensemble praised for making deeply flawed people genuinely compelling to watch. Seasons 1–3 are near-universally lauded as prestige television at its best; Season 4 and particularly the series finale divided audiences sharply, with many reviewers expressing disappointment at the landing.

From the reviewers

it's a gripping thriller where the tension continues to build throughout each episode and each season and then pays off in a huge way
The acting is so good that you really come to care for these characters and what happens to them even though they're not exactly the best human beings possible.
It's one of the rare shows where every season is just as good as the others. The only negative would have to be the ending.
This is the Breaking Bad of Money Laundering and it is so rich with great characters and subplots.
Its a gripping series with superb casting for every character. It is an edge of your seat thriller that grips the audience from the very start.
