Gangs of London poster

Gangs of London is a visceral, cinematically ambitious British crime drama set in the criminal underworld of London and beyond, ignited when the assassination of a powerful gang patriarch throws a fragile criminal order into chaos. Season 1, shaped heavily by filmmaker Gareth Evans's action-choreography sensibility, is celebrated for fight and shootout sequences reviewers describe as among the best ever committed to television — brutal, precisely staged, and relentless — married to a genuinely compelling ensemble gang-war narrative. The show operates at the extreme end of graphic violence, with a gritty, dark tone and near-zero moral sanctuary. Season 2 is widely considered a significant decline in quality. The target viewer loves action spectacle, crime ensemble drama, and can tolerate — even relish — sustained brutality.

From the reviewers

the action is just terrific. It's choreographed as good as anything you'll see on a tv show. If you're a fan of action then this is the show for you because it's brutal, gritty and nonstop.
it was worth it for the fight/shootouts choreography, editing and brutality. And if you could suspend the huge amount of disbelief and shark jumping, it was pretty entertaining with how over the top it ended up being.
Season 2, on the other hand, has made the mistake of doubling down on all the ridiculous and sub par elements of character writing and plot, asking us to turn off our brains to the point of drooling lobotomy, whilst offering almost none of the rewards of excellent fight/shootouts, editing, creative camerawork and crazy conspiracy cheese of the previous season.
It had some of the best, if not the best, fight scenes I'd ever seen in a TV show. They used their environments and were highly creative. It reminded me of The Raid movie
Lets not forget the camera work, which shows a multitude of tracking angles. Absolutely fascinating!
